Sources: Idaho Legislature · Idaho Reports - HB 745 (signed into law 2026): stops taxpayer funding of government unions. When the Senate committee chair refused to give it a hearing, Senate leadership amended a different bill, stripping everything but its number and inserting the full text of H745, to get around him. It passed both chambers and Governor Little signed it. The union had sent that chairman $1,000 for his primary, and was so angry at the Governor it asked him to return an award it gave him years ago. Weeks ago the press reported the IEA, citing reduced funding, closed all of its regional offices and laid off 26 staff. That shows how much taxpayer school money was going to union activities.
